Math Mayhem

Due to covid, we have not had the opportunity to host Math Mayhem for a few years, but this year it is back! On February 22nd from 6:30-8:00pm, students are invited to come with a parent to play math games hosted and designed by our highschool students. This has been a fun event in the past and I know the children will enjoy it!

Birthday Party Blues

We have not had to chat about birthday parties for a bit because of Covid, but now that people are beginning to have birthday parties again, it may be time to talk about it. When birthday party invitations are handed out at school and some children get invites and others don’t, it is very disappointing and makes learning a challenge when melt downs occur. Our handbook says that birthday invites are only to be handed out at school if there is an invitation for every child. Thank you so much for honouring our policy and helping to keep our learning atmosphere inclusive.

Gymnastics

The children were so excited to get out of the school and have some fun! They listened well and burned off some energy!

Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is a big celebration for us in Grade 1! Here are a few things that you should know:

• February 14th is a pay to wear casual to support our Missions Team. Students are asked to bring $2 to wear Valentin’es Colours: red, pink and white
• Special order hot lunch is available to order on Munch-a-lunch
• Students are welcome to bring Valentine’s to mail to their friends. This is optional and students will still receive Valentines even if they do not bring them. We do ask that if you bring Valentines that you bring one for each student in the class. A class list will be glued in their Planners.
• I am looking for 3 parents to bring treats for our class party!

Gymnastics

Just a reminder that we are off to gymnastics tomorrow. Students are welcome to wear comfy clothes that they can move and stretch in.

Winter study

We are just finishing up our winter theme for the month of January. It felt so amazing to get some snow to finish off our study. We got to enjoy hot chocolate yesterday and have a play in the snow!
