As we are saying goodbye to October and ushering in November, here are a few pictures of our October theme of pumpkins. Our November theme is leaves.

Our First Field trip!

October 29th, 2021

Our first fieldtrip was chaotic and fun. The children were so excited and yet were very well behaved at the farm. Here are a few pictures from the day! Also, a sneak preview that November’s field trip is bowling so get your criminal checks in so you can join us!

Pumpkin Investigation

October 28th, 2021

Today we took apart our classroom pumpkin and did some investigating. We smelled, touched and ate some pumpkin seeds (boughten ones, of course!)

Taves Farm Field trip

October 28th, 2021

The children are so excited about our field trip tomorrow (Friday, October 29). The children should wear casual clothes that can get muddy! Boots and a raincoat are a must!

The farm has asked that each child bring a plastic shopping bag to bring their pumpkins home in.

Also, for parents who are coming along, adults may be asked to wear masks, so please bring a mask along.

The forecast is for sunny weather so say a prayer for us!

Library Fundraiser

October 26th, 2021

Mrs. Britz is doing some fundraising for the Library to pruchase some new books! Students are invited to bring $1 to Library on Thursday to put a guess in a candy jar. The student who puts in the closest guess will win the candy in the jar. If you want to send the money ahead of time, I am happy to keep track of it.

A Beautiful Fall Day

October 20th, 2021

We were blessed with a beautiful Fall day yesterday and I knew the rain was coming! We took some time out of the serious work of becoming readers and writers to go outside and rake up a pile of leaves and jump in it. We had such a fun time with such a simple thing. We picked up two bags of leaves for our janitor so that was fun too. I couldn’t help but notice that the leaves were all back this morning so there can be more jumping in our future! We then came back in an wrote/illustrated our fun. We are making steps to becoming writers.

A little Art display to brighten your day.

Colour Books

October 15th, 2021

I sent home the Colour Books that we have been working on. I am already seeing an improvement in the printing and colouring of the students. They have read each page to me and are confident in reading the simple repetative words. I would love it if you could have the children read their Colour Books to you. The confidence helps them as they move forward into more challenging words.
