Thank you!
Thank you so much for the cards, gifts and words of encouragement. In many ways it was a challenging year with cohorts, restrictions and so much sanitizing. Yet, through it all, God is good and I had a wonderful year with the children. Watching them grow, learn and blossom in the midst of the challenges was so encouraging. I wish you a wonderful summer full of joy and the easing of restrictions! I look forward to seeing you next year!
Report Cards
Just a reminder that report cards are available for pick up at the school office until Friday, June 25th at noon.

As I am sitting at my desk, taking my mask off and taking a deep breathe and thinking about how sticky I am with melted freezie, I see a pile of report cards sitting on my desk. I FORGOT TO HAND OUT THE REPORT CARDS! It has been a crazy end of the school year with ups and downs and unexpected twists and turns and I apologize for not getting them into the kids’ backpacks with all of their other stuff! Report cards will be available to pick up at the office starting Monday.

Birthday Celebrations
We are celebrating lots of June and July birthdays this month! If you want to send treats for student birthdays, just a reminder that because of covid they must be individually wrapped, such as wagon wheels, granola bars, small bags of chips etc.

It is definitely bitter sweet as I talk with the kids about our last week together. We are all so tired and in need of a break that the excitement is palpable, yet we have developed deep friendships as a class and will definitely miss each other. I am seeing so many skills come together and know that so many of them are more than ready to start the adventure of Grade Two. I am so proud of the learning and maturing that has happened this year.
I am slowly sending home duotangs as we complete each unit and I hope that you take a look at their work and see the progress as it unfolds throught the year and their work.
Here is our schedule of special events for next week.
Wednesday, June 16 – Fun Day in the morning: Play Clothes, Movie and Ice cream in the afternoon
Friday, June 18 – LAST DAY!, noon dismissal, Report cards go home, Knight Day

Scout’s Open House
We were so sad to lose our field trip to Benanna Lake. I will be holding an Open House for famlies to come up and meet Scout, have a treat and enjoy the beauty of the property on Monday, June 28th. I would like to get an idea of how many students are coming and would like to stagger families so that everyone does not come at the same time! If you could send me an email and let me know your preferred time, that would be wonderful. Time options are: 10:00, 11:30, or 1:00. I hope to see many of you up at the farm!

Our Library is switching to a new computer programme and all books need to be re-entered and re-coded. We are asking for all Library books to be returned to school this week. If you don’t know if you have outstanding library books, send me an email and I can confirm for you!
