Orange Shirt Day 2022
We had a lovely day today talking about Phyllis and her orange shirt. We talked about how every child matters. We brainstormed ways that we can make our school a safe place and came up with a list of positive ways that children want to feel when they are at school. Here are a few pictures of our activities from today.

Just a reminder that this week we are honouring Truth and Reconciliation Week. On Thursday, we will be wearing our orange shirts and casual bottoms and Friday we will not be at school. I look forward to a variety of activities, books and art projects that can remind our youngest students about kindness, faith, hope and love.

Apple Muffins
We are wrapping up our September theme of apples. Yesterday we baked apple muffins together. Baking with 16 six year olds is not for the faint of heart. We had good success and the students seemed to enjoy the muffins!
All School Chapel
The last two weeks we have had an all school worship time. It’s the first time our grade 1s have attended Chapel. It is a pleasure to worship with them and watch them praise the Lord!
Terry Fox Run 2022
We had our Terry Fox run yesterday and I was so impressed by how interested in running some of the students were. A majority of students ran 4-5 laps of the field! Thank you to the parents who sent twoonies in! I believe that each little bit helps. Here are some photos of some sweating little cuties!
Terry Fox Run
Tomorrow is our annual Terry Fox Run. The children are invited to bring a toonie to be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation and we will be doing a run outside on the field.

Our theme for the month is apples and we have been reading books and creating art about apples. On Friday, we did some apple tasting. It got quite exciting and I forgot to take pictures. I tried to find apples that maybe the kids had not tried before like: Jazz, cosmic crisp and honey crisp. After the tasting, we took a vote as to what our favourite apple was.
