Orange Shirt Day 2020
Today was our annual Orange Shirt Day. Our focus today was on “Every Child Matters.” We read a wonderful book called “The Sharing Circle” and did our onw sharing circle with a talking stick to discuss how we want to feel when we are at school. I took a few pictures so you could experience it with us!

In October we will begin an Author study of Robert Munsch. It is our goal to read as many Robert Munsch books as possible during the month of October. I have a stack and I ordered a stack from the Library. If you would be willing to lend us any of your Robert Munsch books, we would love that! Please clearly label them so I am able to get them back to you!
Knight Day
Don’t forget that it is Knight Day tomorrow!

It’s been a day full of all kinds of weather. It has poured rain and now the sun is shining. Thanks to the parents who sent their kids prepared for the weather. We are being asked to send our kids out as much as possible as it is safer as far as our covid plans. It means that teachers and students need to come prepared to go out if it is not pouring! I do have a rule – “No boots, no puddles,” but I guarantee there are some wet feet today!
Double Letter Phonograms
I have had some interest from parents who would like to follow up at home with learning the double letter phonograms as we introduce them. Here are the 5 double letter phonograms that I introduced last week. They are review from Kindergarten.
Pick Up Change
With the Kindergarten now in session full time, they are finding it a challenge to get to their drop off zone close to the front doors of the school as they have been asked to leave through the back of the building. They have asked Grade 1 to switch places with them. Starting today, we will be dismissing the Grade 1s from the sidewalk close to the front entrance. Sorry for any inconvenience!

This morning we did our Terry Fox run in the gym. I was so impressed with the kids! All of the students ran 10 laps of the gym and some of the children ran 17 laps! Wow! We raised $44 for cancer research! Thank you so much for your generosity!
