Clean Water Fundraiser
In Social Studies, we have been learning about the rights and needs of children, one of which is clean water. We read the book “Nibi’s Water Song” which is about children in Canada without access to clean water. We would like to do a short fundraiser to send a small donation to Samaritan’s Purse who is buying filters for schools in developing areas so that children can have fresh water.
If you would like to donate, we have a jar on my desk ready to collect your donations. We will collect for the next two weeks. Thank you in advance!

Happy Monday!
On Friday, November 1st, we will be having Parent/Teacher Interviews from 10:00am-4:00pm. As this interview is in place of a report card, I will need to meet with all families. There is a sign up sheet on the back of my classroom door for you to choose your time. If you cannot make it on Friday, please feel free to email me at kevans@highroadacademy.com and we can make an appointment for after school next week.

We went on a short field trip to the Preschool looking for leaves. It’s fun watching how confident they feel now that they are big Grade Oners!

Parent/Teacher Interviews
November 1, 2019 is our annual Parent/Teacher Interview day from 10am – 4pm. It marks three months that your student has been in Grade One. I would like to meet with each family to chat about strengths and areas to work on. I will have work samples ready to show you what we have been learning about in class. After school today, I will post a sign up sheet and you can sign up for a time slot that works for you. I understand that not all families will be able to come on November 1st. If you need an alternative date, please email me and we will find a time to meet. Thank you in advance! I look forward to seeing you.

It was a cold and rainy day, yet we managed not to get soaked! The kids had a great time and were really well behaved. I was thankful to have so many parent helpers along!
