K-3 Musical
This year instead of our Spring Sing, the K-3 students will be performing the Music Machine Musical on Monday, May 13 at 6:30pm.
Next week on February 7 the students will be recording some dialogue and are asked to bring a solid colour t shirt with no writing on it to school to change into.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support during this challenging time. I am continuing to have challenges with my knee and mobility. I have been referred to a specialist, but that will take some time. I long to be back in my classroom with my students, but I know that that is not possible for the time being. Mrs. Roorda will be in the classroom for me. Please know that I am in every weekend planning each lesson so that the continuity is there for the kids. Feel free to email me if you have any concerns!

Our High School Missions team is preparing for a trip to the Philippines on March break. They are fundraising to put in a water filter in the village they are visiting.
A bulletin board has been set up in front of the office showing 600 cups of dirty water. Each donation of $10 will change a dirty glass of water into a clean glass of water. $10 donations can be made at the office or in the classrooms.
They are also looking to collect 150 hand-sized stuffies to hand out to the children. Stuffies can be brought into the classrooms for donation.
Thank you for partnering with us!

As I was back in my classroom prepping for the coming week, I marked and looked at Spelling tests. I can see that some of the students are finding it challenging. I know the TOC does it a bit differently than I do, but they are still practicing the words three times per week. If your student is finding that the lists are getting more challenging, can you take a look at them at home this week for some extra practice? Thank you so much!
Grade 1 words:long, wild, sea, flat, bread, child, star, day, wall, milk
Grade 2 words: than, take, season, storm, corn, tree, blow, alike, put, river
Challenge Words: two, maybe, without, male, female

Thank you so much for being patient with me as I have been recouperating from a torn meniscus in my knee. It has been a hard go and I am slowly on the mend. My goal is to slowly work back into the classroom starting tomorrow. The TOC will be helping me through the week and I will be teaching each morning and testing out how well my knee is healing. Your prayers and support during ths challenging time has been much appreciated. I am so excited to see the students tomorrow!

Spelling Words
Thank you so much for your prayers. I am still in need of your prayers and am still home healing. Here are the spelling words for the week of January 15th:
Grade 1: fun, trade, robe, wash, old, little, hot, cold, green, ice
Grade 2: stone, foot, dance, lift, page, after, show, thank, what, moon
Just wanted to check in about spelling. Lots of the kids are getting 10/10 every week. Do you want some challenges for your student? Grade 1s can do grade 2 lists and Grade 2s can have some challenge words. Staying at a grade level pace is also great. If you are wanting some challenges for your student, feel free to send me an email. If you are happy staying in the grade appropriate lists, that will continue as is!
