New Abstract Art on our Bulletin Board!

Your children have been busy learning about abstract art using crayon resist and watercolor painting.  I think they did a fabulous job!  They also spent some time writing down answers to questions about themselves.  The students had such great and interesting ideas!  Come in a take a look at their wonderful art and learn more about your child and their peers!

Shorts and Sandals

As we welcome the arrival of warmer weather, we kindly remind everyone that on Friday Knight’s Day and casual field trip days, it’s important to ensure that casual shorts meet the school’s dress code. According to the uniform policy, all shorts should reach the length of the student’s extended fingertips when standing with arms flat against their sides.  For students in grades 3-6, please note that shorts not meeting this requirement will result in wearing gym strip shorts instead, and K-2 students will need a parent to bring in an appropriate pair of shorts. During this season, sandals in black, brown, grey, white, or a mix of these colours are suitable, but they must have a back strap for student safety during recess. Thank you for your cooperation and support in maintaining a respectful and appropriate dress code. 

Uniform Fitting Day on Wednesday

This is a friendly reminder that we will be hosting a uniform fitting day on Wednesday, May 15th in the church lobby from 1:00 – 5:00. This is a great opportunity for parents to ensure their children have the correct sizes for the upcoming school year. We will have McCarthy staff on hand to assist with fittings and answer any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you there!

Music Machine on Monday

Our performance of “The Music Machine” will be on Monday, May 13^th at 6:30pm. 

Doors will open at 6:00pm and we ask all students arrive to their classrooms between 6:00 and 6:10pm.  

Students are to wear jeans with t-shirts that are brightly coloured (spring colours) with no large logos or wording.  Sneakers or gym shoes are fine.  Please no hats, shorts, tracksuits or sweatshirts/sweatpants.  All clothing needs to abide by the uniform policy for casual dress (please see the website for more details on the policy).

Fun at Cheam Wetlands

We had a fabulous time at Cheam Wetlands!  The students enjoyed running around with friends, connecting to what we have learned in our pond habitat studies with the pond life there and learning some new things about the nature around us!  What wonderful and curious children you have and what a perfect day to spend outside.

Cheam Wetlands and Kent’s Ice Cream this Friday!

We are getting excited for our trip to Cheam Wetlands and Kent’s Ice cream!  Here are a few things to know:

1. Please pack a lunch that does not need to be warmed.  We will be eating at the wetlands and we need an easy lunch for each student to eat.
2. Dress for the weather!  Rain or shine we will be outdoors for quite a while.
3. Wear shoes that are good for walking.  We will be walking for a good amount of time.
4. We will be offering the students 3 ice cream flavours to choose from when we go to Kent’s.  The ice cream will come in a cup so that the workers at Kent’s are not overwhelmed with 60 cones to make.
