Stranger Safety

April 5th, 2022

Our Assembly topic this month is Stranger Safety. This is a challenging concept for the children to understand as they often think a stranger is a bad guy with a mask or that every adult is safe. It is my goal that the children are not scared of people that they do not know, but that they have some skills to keep them safe. We will be talking about what a stranger is and who is a safe stranger. We will be reading books on what to do if you get lost and who can pick you up from school or activities. The students will be learning “rules” to help keep them safe and a song that will hopefully remind them of how to be safe.

This is a great topic for you to chat with your students at home so they know what you would like them to do if they get lost or if someone tries to pick them up who is not authorized.
