Clarification on boots

Just a clarification on boots. When the rainy weather hits, our playground turns into a mud pit. On Wednesday, the children came in with very muddy feet and tracked the mud all through the hallway, classroom and on our carpet where we sat for the rest of the day. In the very wet weather months, I ask the children to wear boots on the barkmulch so that they can change into their clean shoes when they come in and then our classroom stays clean. I am asking children who do not bring boots or outside shoes to change into to remain on the pavement areas during playtime. This will allow us to keep our classrom and carpet cleanish.
