Veggie Soup Day

Tomorrow, Friday, January 12th, the foods class will be preparing a veggie soup made from veggies harvested and frozen from our own Highroad Garden. Each student will receive a small bowl of soup for lunch. It will not be enough for their whole lunch and just in case veggie soup is not a big hit, best to send along a regular lunch.

January/February Memory Verse

Thank you so much for the emails and kind words. I am an active and impatient person so I can see that this will be a growing experience for me!

For those of you who practice the memory verse at home, here is the version we will be practicing with:

1 John 4: 7-12 (NIV)

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

I will be away from my classroom

Good Morning and welcome back to school,

I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas break. I just wanted to let you know that I will not be in the classroom this week. I had the misfortune of falling on a trail and tearing the meniscus in my knee. I have been advised to stay at home until I can walk on the knee again. I would appreciate your prayers as I would much rather be at school!
