Geometric Solids

November 4th, 2020

We have been learning about geometric solids in Math and today we did an activity with building solids. Covid protocols were followed and students washed their hands and I wore gloves as I passed out supplies. It was a loud and exciting lesson!

Parent/Teacher Interviews

November 3rd, 2020

Parent/ Teacher Interviews are coming up on November 16th from 9:00am – 4:10pm. With covid, we are going to have to do things a bit differently. It is my goal to meet with every family and chat about areas of strength and things to work on. I am available to meet in person and remotely through video conferencing. I would prefer to meet remotely for a couple of reasons: to cut down on the sanitizing between parents and also that children will need to sit quietly in the hallway if they are not a student in the classroom. The document below outlines how the day will look. Please take a look and sign up for a time slot that works for you. If you would really like to meet in person, feel free to send and email and we will see what we can do! I look forward to seeing you!

November 2nd, 2020

We finished our Robert Munsch Unit today. When I googled to see how many books Robert Munsch has written, the response was 60 plus books. We read 59 Robert Munsch books in the month of October!

Today I will be introducing the series called “The Magic Tree House.”

Art Afternoon and Games

November 2nd, 2020

Usually to pass the wet and dark month of November I would have a games afternoon with the kids. I generally invite parents and we have a great time together. Due to covid, we are going to need to make some changes! Please note that I have changed the date to Friday, November 20th as the previous date came too close to the start of our December festivities. We have obtained permission to meet with an older class in the intermediate who also does not have an assigned cohort. Due to an odd number of classrooms, we are the only primary classroom without a cohort. We will be doing Art and Games together during the afternoon of November 20th. Are there any parents who are willing to send treats for that afternoon? I know it is harder as they must be purchased and prepackaged. Some suggestions are: prepackaged cookies like “Dad’s” or “Bear Paws”, fruit by the foot, wagon wheels, rice krispie squares, small Halloween sized chocolate bars, granola bars, individual bags of chips and I am sure that there are many more, as well!
