Salvation Army Food Drive

Our annual food drive is set to begin on November 25th! This year our class has been paired up with 1B and Grade 6 and our challenge is to bring in as many cans of vegetables as possible. Our team will be awarded 5 points for every can of veggies brought in. All other food items will be given 1 point. If you prefer to send in money, each dollar will be awarded 5 points. December 18th will be the final day to donate. I love this fundraiser as it blesses children and families in our own communities! Let’s go Grade 1!

Nibi’s Water Song Fundraiser

Thank you so much to the families that donated to our fundraiser for fresh water for kids. We were able to raise $70! A donation will be made to Samaritan’s Purse Turn on the Tap water project!

Fall Art

The students were so focussed on their Fall Trees that not a sound could be heard! Could this happen every day?

Some serious building

We had some serious building in Centre time today!

Bowling

Thank you to all the parents who came out to help with bowling yesterday. After a slow start at the bowling alley, the kids had a great time! Maddox was so proud of his score that he asked me to take a picture!

Wet Feet

We were so thankful to get outside between rain showers. The kids who enjoyed jumping in the puddles have very wet feet. If your student is a puddle jumper by nature, I would recomment bringing rain boots to change into at recess in order to keep their feet dry. They will need to wear their school shoes in the building, but have time to change on the way outside.

Spelling Words

I will introduce the words on Monday, November 18th and test the words on Friday, November 22nd.

Christmas Decorating Party

It’s hard to believe that December is coming up so quickly! I am planning a Christmas decorating party for the students on Monday, December 2nd from 1-3. I will be planning 5 Art stations and would love to have 5 or more parent helpers. If you are not able to join us, I would also love to have some Christmas snacks for the students. Feel free to send me an email if you are able to come in and help or send a snack!

Bowling

Just a reminder that we will be going Bowling tomorrow, November 14th. Our lane time is 1:30-2:30pm. Students can wear playclothes tomorrow. All parents are welcome to join us to watch or help.
