Spring Sing Recording

Just a reminder that our Spring Sing Recording will be happening tomorrow. The kids are asked to wear summer clothes and bring sunglasses if possible.

Last Spelling Test

This week will be our last week to have a Spelling Test in Grade One! Wow, how the time has flown by! I will introduce the words on Monday, June 7th and test them on Friday, June 11th.

Writing Portfolios

I began a writing portfolio with the students in September to show case their progress throughout the year. I love seeing their progress. We have one more piece of writing to finish next week and then I’ll get them ready to go home! The end of the year is coming so quickly!

A Sweet Goodbye to Kathy and Shelley

Hello parents. We are putting together some SURPRISE videos for Kathy and Shelley’s retirements/last days at Highroad. If you don’t know them, they are two of our key office ladies we have been so blessed to have. Shelley is retiring and Kathy is moving up to Prince George where her and her husband bought at RV park. They are removed from this group and won’t see this, so don’t tell them. We will also be having a drive by parade which is currently planned for the 15th at the 3pm school pick up if you want to drop off a card or something then.

We are using a program that is super simple for our video! Click the link below if you are interested in joining and it will give you instructions on how to add your video. You could do either a little thank you clip, funny memory or something on your heart. Doesn’t need to be long, short and sweet is preferred! We are hoping to get this done by the end of next week.

Hot Weather Reminders

It is crazy HOT outside and inside today! Many of the children do not have water bottles at school and are terribly thirsty. We have no water fountain available due to covid. Please send water bottles!

Spring Sing Recording

We will be going ahead with our classroom recording for the Spring Sing on Tuesday, June 8th. Students are asked to wear summer clothes on Tuesday.

Our Community

In Social Studies we have been studying what a community needs. We are building a community on our back table. This is Highroad City complete with houses, restaurants, parks and pools, and police and fire stations.
