We are writers!

February 4th, 2021

The children are becoming writers! This was our first attempt at paragraph style writing. The students came up with full sentences to instruct people on how to build a snowman. I printed their original sentences on the board and they wrote them on their papers. It is so wonderful to see their progress! This great sample comes from Eli.

We are strong readers!

February 3rd, 2021

Our reading is getting stronger and stronger and I am so proud of their progress. Each week we work on a story and I send it home with them to read to you and wow you! Here is our story from this morning:

Love

February 3rd, 2021

Part of love is being grateful for someone or something that is important to us. We are working on our gratefulness. I know that it may be hard to see, but we made a list of things and people we love and wrote them on hearts to put on our tree. Moms you are featured on many of those hearts. Be encouraged, you are loved!

Snow, please!

We are still holding out hope that a little bit of this beautiful white stuff will come our way.

Valentine’s Love

February 2nd, 2021

We started off the month of February decorating our classroom for Valentine’s Day. It is no secret that Valentine’s Day is my favourite occasion to celebrate after Christmas. I think that it is so important that people around me understand that they are seen and noticed for the amazing people that God created them to be. Each student is unique with different strengths and giftings and that no gifting is more or less than the others.  I want them to know that they are more than how they do academically.  When we talked about each other yesterday and the great things about each of them that I notice, I could see that they were pleased and embarrassed at the same time.  I created a bulletin board in the hallway about the things I love about each of my students. I wish that you could see it! A picture will have to do!

Our month is full of great learning about love and friendship. We will also be looking at bullying and what to do when things go wrong socially.
