Wednesday, April 1, 2020 Putting together a family schedule

April 1st, 2020

Good Morning! It is your daily post from me! I’m not sure about your family, but I have been self-isolating by myself. Please don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining, but there are many hours in the day to fill and there was a lot of screens and texting. My schedule looked something like this:

As we move into our online learning, it will be important for both of us to set up a schedule. The students rely heavily on the routines that I set up in my classroom. There is no right was to create a family schedule, as each family will need something specific to their needs. They should have a set time when they get up. I suggest that the children get dressed and ready for the day. Let them help you build the schedule as they will be more likely to be willing to follow it. Schedule in lots of down time and outside activity. The students do jobs for me that help keep the classroom running smoothly and they do not complain. They can do jobs for you, as well! Here is a potential schedule that might work for you:

Please take some time to create a family schedule. It will keep you on – track and hopefully help the students feel more impowered to complete their work. If you want to blame the schedule on me, or take my name in vain, I am good with that.

Have a fabulous day!
