Math Enrichment
Some of my families are asking for more work, especially in learning Math facts. One website that I would recomment for learning Math facts is xtramath.org. If you set up an account and do the pretest, the program will set you up to work on Math facts. I did notice that the Grade One default is addition and subtraction 0-5 which may be too easy. If you want harder facts, you will need to adjust the default or rock the pretest! Addition and subtraction facts to 18 is a big part of our Math curriculum so any extra practice can be helpful! Thank you to all of the families who are rocking this!

Some of my parents who are schooling more than one child have asked if I could post some easy work that would keep their Grade One child busy and independent while they are working with another child. Here are a couple of fun sheets to keep them busy. They are absolutely optional and I do not need you to submit them!

Friday, April 3, 2020 Learning Menu Week 1
Good Morning!
It was nice to chat with all of you by phone this week. I talked with many of you about the Weekly Learning Menu. The menu is a snapshot of the activities that we will try to accomplish this coming week April 6-10th. You can print it out and hang it on your fridge. Our goal is that students will choose three academic activities plus an outside play each day. The instructions for each activity with pictures and videos will be on the right hand side of the blog under the headings: Math Language Arts, Socials and Science.
This is a goal and we can evaluate the amount of work it is at the end of the week. I think some of you will want more and some will be happy with the Weekly Menu. I can provide extra enrichment to those who want it! My goal is not to overwhelm either of us! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions!

Do not worry about our class fish. He has moved in with me and is living on top of the filing cabinet away from my prying cat Koi.

Good Morning, Grade 1 families,
We are getting so close to being organized! Today you can go to the school and pick up your child’s supplies. As per the school’s email:
- Last names beginning with A-L pick up between 8:30am-12:30pm
- Last names beginning with M-Z pick up between 12:30pm-4:30pm
Please do not let the children tear through the supplies or duotangs as there is work prepared for us to use in the comming weeks that needs to be organized and intact.
Let the adventure begin!
