Reading Bags
I will send home book bags today! In each book bag is an easy, medium and harder book. The hope is that the children will work on reading the easy book to you and that you can read the medium and hard book to them. As their reading ability increases, they can read all three books to you! I will not send books home with the students who are bringing books home from Mrs. Wilson. If you have lots of books at home and would prefer not to be responsible for another set, feel free to email me and I won’t send a book bag home with your student. There are a few students who are reading chapter books so if you want harder books, let me know!
Each Monday I will send a new book bag home with the students who have returned their bag from the previous week.

Today we are writing in our Planners for the first time. The students are printing well and are now able to be responsible for their Planners. The students will bring them home each night for you to sign and then bring them back to school each morning for me to sign. If you would like to write a note to me, the Planner is a great place as I will check it each morning. I will also jot down notes for you every once in a while! The students are excited about this new adventure!

We are finishing up our shapes unit with a building activity. Students are using toothpicks and mini marshmallows to build as many 3D shapes as they can. I have to admit that mini marshmallows do not taste as good as I remember from my childhood.
